Plant Sale!  Saturday, June 4th 11-2pm- Live in High School Park!  Native Plants, Herbs and other selections.  Stop at our table and discuss the importance of Native Plants and their pollinators or chat with our “Bee Expert” Nick about all sorts of  bees!  Learn how to make a “bee house” too!

Art and Music Summer Series:  

-Cheltenham High School PBL 11 Outdoor Exhibition “Human/Nature” -Examine Your Relationship With Planet Earth!   Opening Reception: June 1st from 5-7.  Please bring your single use plastic bags.
-Outdoor Art Exhibition & Installation (ongoing project for June & July)
-Concert Series :  June 22nd (Emmaus Chorale)  @ 7pm  ; June 29th (Ulansey, Posmontier and Friends) @ 7pm;  July 13th (High Brow Hound Dogs) @ 7pm

Arts in the Park Festival – October 2nd, 11am-4pm

We will also be joined again by our friends from Tookany-Tacony Frankford Watershed Partnership (TTF), and the Cheltenham Township Environmental Action Committee, helping us spread the word on what you can do to help our interconnected watersheds, forests, and townships. Open to all members of the Friends of High School Park.  Learn about the accomplishments of last year, the plans for our current year and also welcome our newest board members.

Earth Day Event – April 23rd (2-4pm) and April 30th (9:30am-12noon)

Come explore and learn about the different habitats at High School Park, on this Fairy House Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, April 23rd and a Fairy House Making day on Saturday, April 30th.

Barktoberfest – October 31
Dog costume parade will be happening around 4pm on October 31.  If you have a dog prepared to parade with the hopes for the annual trophy, meet at the shed at 3:45pm.  There will also be refreshments for all!  Look below for a video of the 2020 Barktoberfest.

Arts in the Park  – October 3
The Arts in the Park Festival RETURNS to High School Park as Parktoberfest.  Join us to celebrate  a great community festival featuring food vendors, handmade arts, and fun kids’ activities. Earth Day Event – April 24 from 2-4
Come explore and learn about the different habitats at High School Park, while hunting for fairy houses! Groups of 4 families will venture out every 15 minutes (to socially distance the fun!). Please sign up with your family name in a 15-minute time slot below and plan to meet at the beginning of the time slot. Sign-up here.

The Goats Return – November 2-4
In collaboration with the Philly Goat Project – paid for by Friends of High School Park, the goats have a little more work to do on the hillside and will return for an encore visit.

• Vita Giannetti is their “Goat Whisperer” and will be walking the goats twice a day throughout their stay. She will be available to chat with folks at a distance – all humans must wear a mask! (approximately at 9am on Tuesday/Wednesday and 4pm on Monday/Tuesday)
• It is very important to be respectful both of the goats & the fencing.

Fall Activities in the Park  – October 24
GOAT WALK 3 – 4 pm
Come learn about the goats who are making a week-long grazing visit to High School Park.
Barktoberfest 4:30 pm
Dress up your dog in a halloween costume. Bring your leash, mask, and practice social distancing. Parade entry is free and a photographer will be on site.  Prizes! Meet by the shed around 4:15 pm.

Virtual Fundraiser – October 25
Virtual cocktails with author Andy Schloss.  All attendees received a Zoom invite and a goody bag of his book Homemade Liqueurs and Infused Spirits, elderberry syrup and a collection of native seeds for the garden.

Costume Parade – October 31
Kids!  Families!  Meet at 2pm in costume.  Such Fun it was.
