The Friends of High School Park have a variety of volunteer opportunities. Our most frequent opportunity is Workday Weekends.

Workday Weekends are when we get most of the physical work done in the park. We’ll pull and cut back exotic invasive plants, perform trail maintenance, plant trees and shrubs, and work on some of the projects happening in the park. Workdays can accommodate individuals and groups of any size. We have gloves and a variety of tools but please feel free to bring your own.

Workdays are great opportunities to get outside with neighbors and new friends. Come out and learn about the Cheltenham park that is everyone’s backyard. We’ll be working on many different projects from ecological mapping and forest inventory to fixing benches and cleaning trails. We have a number of salvage and planting projects that will need extra hands too.

Workday Weekends are every other weekend from March to November. Workdays begin at 10 am and go until 12 pm.  Meet at the shed beside the meadow. We recommend wearing long sleeves, boots, and pants. Parking is available along High School Road and Montgomery Ave.

Workday Weekends for 2021:

Kickoff will be March 6 & 7
MAR:  20th & 21st
