Friends of High School Park was created by volunteers in 1995 and it continues to be volunteers who help maintain and develop High School Park.

Workday Weekends for 2021:

Workday Weekends are a time for individuals to meet on Saturday and Sundays between 10 and 12 noon every other weekend beginning in early March and going through late November.  The FULL List of dates is on our Events page.

Each workday, several tasks can be accomplished with varying levels of experience.   There is always lots of weeding to do as well as trail maintenance, plantings, seed gathering and trash pick-up.  Throughout the seasons there may also be special projects where specific tasks are required.  We can accommodate adults, school students, younger children accompanied by an adult and groups of any size.  We supply gloves and a variety of tools but please feel free to bring your own.

Social distancing and masks are required.

Workdays are great opportunities to get outside with your neighbors and meet someone new!  Great time spent for “community service credits” too!

Join us at the shed beside the meadow a little before 10am on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. We do work in light rain – it is actually the best time to weed!

A strong recommendation is to wear long sleeves, closed shoes, and pants.  The water fountain was not turned on in 2020, so bring water too!
