Sewer construction has begun in the lower woodland section of the park. After finding large deposits of rock, it was decided that blasting (yes, with dynamite) will need to occur in order to dig deep enough to lay down the new pipes. This will affect the area of the park from High School Road past the stairs and through the narrow section of the path to the midway point toward Mill Road near the creek.
It is anticipated that this process will take 2-3 weeks, so be prepared for the noise during this time, and stay safe when enjoying other areas of the park.
It’s time for the Great Backyard Bird Count, February 16-19th, 2018.
Join hundreds of thousands of citizen scientists worldwide. You only need to make observations for 15 minutes on one or all four days. High School Park is a wildlife sanctuary, where you can see and record your observations of bird life, and contribute to our understanding of bird abundance and distribution.
