It warmed up just a little yesterday, a2017_Annual_Meeting_01nd was the perfect weather for holding an evening meeting. Last night at the Elkins Park Library, the Friends of High School Park held their Annual Meeting. We heard from President Cynthia Blackwood about the future state of the park and the group and gained some insight into what will be happening for Phase II. We got a quick financial report from Howard. Things are looking good for us in the department, and fundraisers such as our upcoming Winter WarmUp on Jan 28th will help ensure that we have the budget to continue our work. Restoration Manager Kevin Reis gave us a detailed report on many of the projects that occurred at the park the past year, as well as recognizing some of the groups and volunteers that donated their time.

We also welcomed and voted in our newest members Cathy Callan, Kisha Martin, Tarsha Scovens, Leigh Howard Nachod, and Steve Wyremski. We look forward to how each can use their unique talents and perspectives to help us continue our mission here at High School Park.
